December 16th, 2012 a medical student from Delhi was gang reaped and murdered. A CNN news report states that it was the tipping point of Indian Society. The suppressed rage against poor safety condition of women met its catastrophic end. People took on to the streets agitating, Demonstrating against the heinous crime of accused. Frantic media showed a nation wide coverage of events. A Anti-Rape sentiment was on high and various debates and discussions ensued all over the nation. the trial of accused began, The media frenzy trial concluded and the accused were sentenced accordingly. Yet again a 27 year Law student Jisha was raped and brutally mutilated by goons in Kerala on April 28th of this year. The events that followed are the same. Students, Activists and all the concerned citizens of India are crying for justice. After 2012 the central government has changed, they've promised and have partially tried to adopt new policies to tackle the situation, but seeing the consistent number of atrocities against women and a utter failure of us as a society to create a safe environment for women the outrage today is new but the reasons are old. The boom in population made our government, Police and investigative agencies overwhelm I.e. Ineffective. The proportion of police to population is so low in our nation that the effective (and Long) hands of Law fall short in this matter. The sheer mass of population our agencies have to police is So vast keeping track or even detecting possible predators is impossible. And we can't Blame our police or investigative agencies, as without proper assets, proper tech and training all they can do is keep calm and carry on to do their job as best as they can do. Along with it our population boom, Due to influence of 'L.S.D.' i.e. western culture our moral code which was iron clad a few decades ago went haywire! The failure of faulty education system which was relic of past educational mechanism propagated by Macaulay leading individuals away and ashamed of Indian Culture made them morally corrupt. The 'Chalta Hai' era of civic life began and we couldn't care less about all these issues, till they directly concerned us. The lack of morality led to a insecure and dangerous atmosphere for woman. Yet we believe after 'Nirbhaya' things will change our united will would motivate us towards a better future. We were wrong, the piling cases of offences against women prove the failures of us as a society and as nation. It is time for us again rise and take responsibility upon ourselves not to let this happen again. To strengthen the public services, Police and investigative agencies and our policies. Make our education better, (more leaning towards giving knowledge and less on providing information!) To shape our minds through education be moral, to be supportive to be primitive and to be protective of Safe and secure environment for women!
